Helsinki, the capital of Finland, has been seeing a lot of new restaurants come to the scene especially in the last few years. Because of this each day there is a new one opening and an old one closing down so favourite lists like these may change really quickly. Even so, here is a little list of my favourite Helsinki restaurants to eat at. Enjoy!

Do you have any of those dream destinations that have been in your mind for years? Maybe you haven´t managed to go there yet because you haven´t had the time, money or opportunity or maybe you have already fulfilled your goal of getting there. Whatever the case may be, you at least probably know that a dream destination can be an obsession that takes hold of you and won´t let go, until you do something about it.
Helsinki, Finland
I’m just about to head out to a travel blogger Christmas party in November 2015, when I happen to see a notification on Facebook: ”Yes, I really will be attending the meet-up.” I look more closely and see that my biggest and only idol, the author of the 4 Hour Workweek, Mr. Timothy Ferriss, is organizing a get-together for 150 of his fans in Stockolm, Sweden the next day. I don’t know what to do. Should I really go to Stockholm with such a short warning just so see one guy? I’m not even sure, if I really get to meet him. It’s nothing like me to do stuff like that, because normally I plan everything well beforehand. I’m not a spontaneous person.

I visited Berlin for the first time in April 2016, when we arranged a surprise trip for my father in honor of his retirement. Because I wanted to take the reigns regarding the actual arrangements, it’s no surprise that I chose a hotel that seemed like one of the best ones in Berlin. Actually I realized that Berlin is full of great hotels with relatively low prices, but as it usually is with these things, I got more and more excited browsing the hotels, so the final price wasn’t the cheapest possible.
I want to welcome you to my brand new travel blog. Thank you for coming! My name is Jerry and I will be your guide to the luxurious escapes of everyday life. Before starting this blog, I have written a similar blog in Finnish called Pako Arjesta (almost a literal translation of Escape the Mundane) for 2,5 years now, so I’m not new to blogging. If you happen to speak Finnish, you can go and check it out here.
